    Geotechnical Drill Rig Operator is responsible for operation of our geotechnical CME-55 HT track mounted drill rig is used for soil sampling, rock coring and/or monitoring well installations to examine site conditions typically to depths of 80 feet or less. Transport of our rig requires a Class A CDL. Positions based in Gillette, WY with occasional to frequent periods of work in ND. Class A CDL and mechanic skills required for this position. Co-Op Intern positions provide an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing an advanced education in the related earth sciences, engineering, environmental, drafting and other fields to get hands-on experience working with our professional staff. STRATA’s Co-Op Intern program provides you the opportunity to translate classroom theories into practical application. Our program is also a gateway into long-term employment with STRATA and engaging other professional affiliations who we work with daily.
    Co-Op Intern: A Co-Op Intern is much like an internship, though it has a longer duration (usually June through November). It is a paid, mentored, work experience. As a Co-Op Intern, we provide part- to full-time work for the 5 to 6 month duration. The longer duration allows a greater depth of experiences and creates an opportunity for Co-Ops to advance in specific areas of interest while supplementing our workforce during the typical high production seasons.
    Qualifying candidates must have college-level coursework in Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology or possess other relevant certifications or experience which align with our business. Co-Op Interns begin training and performing work under the direction of project managers, field, and staff professionals. You will get hands-on experience with water sampling, exploration, soil, concrete, aggregate and asphalt, both in the laboratory and field. You will be exposed to, and accomplish field observation, testing, sampling and inspection of construction materials. Our information is relayed to various team members and governing officials through documented site visits and communication directly with clients and contractors; thus written and verbal communication skills are critical.
    Because the Co-Op approach benefits STRATA with longer duration work periods, and trained skill sets can be applied more productively, Co-Op positions are rewarded by reimbursing up to $1,500 in tuition and book expenses applied towards the following school semester. We have immediate openings for CSPs with an emphasis in special inspection, specification verification and field procedures. Qualified professionals will be AWS CWI certified and/or possess ICC/WABO Certifications.
