Rehabilitate Runway 13-31 consists of a mill and inlay of Runway 13-31, constructing 20-foot-wide paved shoulders on both sides of Runway 13-31 and a new blast pad on the Runway 13 end. Work also includes safety area grading and stormwater improvements, partial depth roto-milling of the runway pavement, removal of the runway edge and end lighting and signs, full depth excavation and construction of subbase and base course as well as stormwater and underdrain improvements. Other work includes installation of new runway edge and end lighting, re-installation of runway signs on new foundations, installation of a new in-pavement runway weather information system “RWIS”, placement of hot mixed asphalt (HMA) pavement, application of pavement markings and grooving the runway surface. Approximate quantities include: 84,550 square yards of milling, 20,500 cubic-yards of excavation, 11,000 cubic yards of total aggregates, 21,600 tons of HMA pavement, 1,000 lineal-feet underdrain pipe, 218,500 square feet of pavement markings, 67,000 square yards of pavement grooving. Approximate electrical quantities include 1,500 lineal-feet of conduit, 28,500 lineal feet of 5kV conductor, 14,000 lineal feet of counterpoise, and 115 two-piece base cans. Taxiway B and Apron Pavement Maintenance work consists of pavement maintenance of parallel Taxiway B, connecting taxiways and apron areas. The work includes surface preparation, crack sealing, fog sealing and pavement markings. Approximate quantities include: 16,000 lineal feet of crack sealing, 131,150 square yards of seal coat, and 53,000 square feet of pavement markings. Mill and Inlay Apron Pavement consists of asphalt removal, regrading and compacting the existing base course, HMA pavement placement and pavement markings. Approximate quantities include: 24,250 square yards of pavement removal, 24,250 square yards of regrading and compacting existing base, 5,450 tons of HMA pavement, and 1,200 square feet of pavement markings.
