Government and Construction Inspection & TestingSince 2016, STRATA has provided Special Inspection and Construction Materials Testing services during all phases of the Spokane Riverfront Park Redevelopment project. Riverfront Park is a public park located in downtown Spokane, Washington. The 100-acre park, situated along the Spokane River, was created 48 years ago for Expo ’74, a World’s Fair event. The redevelopment began in 2016 and continues for the next phase, the North Bank Playground. A variety of activities are offered, including biking the Centennial trail, the 1909 Looff Carrousel (newly refurbished and now housed in a climate-controlled building), the SkyRide over the falls, and a Skate Ribbon (new to the park in 2018). The region’s best events are also hosted in and around the park, including Hoopfest (world’s largest 3 on 3 basketball tournament), annual Bloomsday Road Race, and 4th of July Celebration. As a partner with Spokane Parks and Recreation and the various design team members, STRATA has participated in many of the Spokane Riverfront Park Redevelopment aspects, acting as an advocate for the client through various project challenges including the transition from one contractor to another. Spanning more than four years, the project will continue through 2021.
