The most recent State Veterans Home is located in Post Falls, Idaho, on 7.3 acres of land that the Jacklin Land Company donated. The facility will be approximately 85,000 square-feet and contains 64 beds, 16 private rooms, and four household wings. In addition, the building includes a dedicated dining room, kitchen, den, lounge, living room, and outdoor patio.
GEOTECHNICAL STRATA provided geotechnical engineering services for the project to evaluate the site subsurface conditions. STRATA observed and documented exploratory borings and test pits and classified and logged the subsurface conditions. To assist with stormwater design, STRATA also performed two shallow infiltration tests within the on-site native soil. In addition, laboratory testing was utilized to characterize soil engineering parameters and correlate soil design factors. STRATA’s final report provided geotechnical engineering opinions and recommendations for the proposed construction.
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES STRATA provided special inspection, construction materials, and laboratory testing services during construction. STRATA’s special inspectors and field professionals are observing, inspecting, sampling, and testing for earthwork operations, reinforced concrete placements, structural masonry operations, steel welding and bolting installation, fireproofing, and fire stop installation, wood framing installation, and asphalt pavement operations. In addition, STRATA is providing the associated soil, aggregate, concrete, masonry fireproofing, and asphalt laboratory testing to complete our scope of work.
