The Tesla Service Center consists of a 32,000 square foot, single-story building with slab-on-grade flooring and Portland cement concrete walls and metal framed roof supported on shallow concrete foundations. Additional site improvements included an approximately 100,000 square foot asphaltic concrete parking lot with 214 parking stalls. STRATA performed a Geotechnical Engineering Evaluation for the purpose of assessing subsurface soil conditions and prepared a report providing geotechnical recommendations to assist final design and construction document development. STRATA’s geotechnical opinions and recommendations were provided for earthwork, shallow foundation design, concrete slab-on-grade floors, lateral earth pressures, pavement section design, and site drainage considerations. STRATA’s personnel performed geotechnical continuity observation, and on-site observation and testing for soils and aggregate placement and compaction, dry well installation, reinforced concrete placements, structural masonry placements, and structural steel field welding and bolting connections.
