Water and Construction Inspection & TestingThe Sixth Street Reservoir Replacement project took place in Deer Park, Washington. The project comprised constructing an approximate 105-foot-tall, elevated steel tank with a cylindrical concrete pedestal. Construction elements included cast-in-place Portland cement concrete foundation base, stem, and pedestal walls. Other site improvements included an overflow pond, gravel access road, parking area, and drywell installations.
GEOTECHNICAL STRATA performed a Geotechnical Engineering Evaluation for the project by assessing subsurface soil conditions through exploration and providing a report containing geotechnical recommendations for earthwork, shallow foundation design, tank floor support, and lateral earth pressures. Laboratory analyses and a foundation-bearing capacity assessment were also performed to assist with the development of the design and final construction document.
CONSTRUCTION SERVICES STRATA provided geotechnical continuity, construction materials testing, and special inspection for the project by observing subgrade preparation within the foundation footprint to provide engineering oversight, reinforced concrete observation and testing, and structural steel welding observation. In addition, laboratory services included proctor tests and concrete compressive strength testing.
